There is a strong component left to improvisation, spontaneity, and the freedom of the line and gesture. I subsequently constrain this spontaneity by gathering abandoned fragments.\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003e \u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003eI enjoy working with ambiguity and blurriness, reusing parts of engravings that I had set aside because they did not correspond to what I wished to evoke.\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003e \u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003eI treasure these scraps, these discards, all those images and impressions that are non-conforming. With these set-aside elements—different pieces that do not fit the mold—I try to recreate a world, a universe where difference can be sublimated into a world apart.\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003e \u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003eA reconstructed universe where textures, shapes, and colors of an initially different whole meet and assemble. Each small format is unique. Some engravings are very light, almost fragile due to the delicacy of the paper used, leaving plenty of room for void and allowing color to resonate with space.
