To achieve this, I work primarily with aluminum cans collected during my walks. To me, they symbolize our consumer society par excellence: omnipresent, used for a few moments, and then abandoned, even though they will take nearly two centuries to decompose.

Through compression, folding, and the transformation of volumes, I divert this industrial object from its primary function to give it a new identity. I deliberately preserve the irregularities, accidents, and material tensions caused by these manipulations. They contribute to the history of each piece and convey an aesthetic sensitive to imperfection and the ephemeral, in line with wabi-sabi.

Each sculpture is then covered with acrylic paint, sand, and another layer of paint. Sand is the cornerstone of my work. It blurs the interpretation of the object, transforms its surface, and adds a tactile, mineral dimension. Associated with erosion and the passage of time, it acts as a medium of memory as much as one of disappearance.

Through it, my cans are disguised as hourglasses. Admittedly frozen, but carriers of a reflection on time, matter, and the footprint we leave behind.

Presented individually or in series, my creations lie on the border between contemporary sculpture and design object. Through them, I show how everyday waste can be transformed into a sensitive form capable of eliciting emotion, questioning, and reflection.

Authentic sculpture.
