He gives me a trunk from it.

You can already see a color darker than classic chestnut. A reddish-brown, whose origin we cannot truly explain, but whose depth of color is easy to appreciate.
You can also see its heart already attacked by fungi.

I turn it anyway, come what may of this weakened heart.
In awe of its grain, I carve, hollow out, and sand.
The shakes, characteristic of this species, appear.
I decide to remove the already crumbling heart of the tree and define it with a scalpel.

The piece now has a quite singular shape; its delicate edge can now let light pass through and let time take its place again.

ø15cm
h9cm
287g

A perfectly unique, artisanal piece, turned in my workshop in Lasalle, in the Cévennes.

Signed and dated.

Finished with tung oil, food-safe.
Keep out of dishwashers and microwaves; avoid prolonged soaking in water.

//cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0628/0567/2141/files/bol-artisanal-bois-massif-fait-main-France-6_af365fdc-14c4-40b4-8892-56794aa871d0.png?v=1790760816
