A treasure.
I wondered about them, then managed to get in touch with someone who could enlighten me.
These were trunks destined for firewood.
I was allowed to come and cut off some beautiful pieces and collect them, almost for free.
It was upon returning and turning the wood that I discovered its peculiarities: fungi had developed, a few bugs had passed through, and the veining remained splendid.
I observe spalting and a heart that has turned brown.
Quite a story.
This hole is natural. Where a branch once broke off. Oxidation and insect activity have darkened and hollowed it out.
I see it as a precious singularity.
The green-turned wood deforms slightly here after drying, freely.

ø15cm; h6cm

Perfectly unique and artisanal piece, turned in my former workshop in Barcillonnette, in the Hautes-Alpes.
Signed and dated.

Finished with tung oil, safe for food contact.

Keep away from dishwashers and microwaves, and avoid prolonged soaking in water.

//cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0628/0567/2141/files/saladier-en-bois-fontinal-atelier-camille-debussche-1.jpg?v=1790785341
