Straw marquetry is a very lengthy and luxurious technique that consists of applying dyed rye straw onto various surfaces. I carefully select each strand, open them, flatten them, and apply them one by one onto different supports (furniture, decorative objects, paintings...).
Dimensions: length 11.2cm / height 4.2cm / thickness 1.5cm
The wood comes from an old solid oak wardrobe that was unusable and destined for the landfill. The straw is grown, cut, and dyed in France, in the Bourgogne-Franche-Comté region. A small-batch piece entirely handmade in my small workshop in Hauts-de-France.
Materials: oak wood (recycled), rye straw, white vinyl glue, water-based varnish finish.
Please note, color shades may vary slightly depending on your screen calibration.
Shipped via La Poste Colissimo with insurance and interior protection.
Care: Straw marks easily from impacts and scratches. Gently wipe with a simple soft cloth to remove dust.

Thumb book page holder made of Oak wood, enhanced with Royal Blue Straw Marquetry on the top.
