Straw marquetry is a very time-consuming and luxurious technique that consists of applying dyed rye straw to various surfaces. I meticulously select each strand, open them up, flatten them, and apply them one by one to various supports (furniture, decorative objects, paintings...).
Dimensions: length 11.2cm / height 4.2cm / thickness 1.4cm
The wood comes from an old solid oak wardrobe that was unusable and destined for the landfill. The straw is grown, cut, and dyed in France, in the Bourgogne-Franche-Comté region. A small-batch piece made entirely by hand in my small workshop in the Hauts-de-France region.
Materials: oak wood (recycled), rye straw, white vinyl glue, water-based varnish finish.
Please note that color shades may vary slightly depending on your screen calibration.
Shipped via La Poste Colissimo with insurance and interior protection.
Care: Straw is easily marked by impacts and scratches. Gently wipe with a simple soft cloth to remove dust.

Solid oak reading ring, enhanced with pink straw marquetry on top.
