Straw marquetry is a very time-consuming and luxurious technique that consists of applying dyed rye straw onto various surfaces. I carefully select each strand, open them, flatten them, and apply them one by one onto various surfaces (furniture, decorative objects, paintings...).
Dimensions: length 18cm / height 3cm / thickness 0.4cm
The wood comes from a local forestry operation in the Hauts-de-France region and the straw is grown, harvested, and dyed in France, in the Bourgogne-Franche-Comté region. Small-batch piece handmade in my small workshop in the Hauts-de-France.
Materials: beech wood, rye straw, white vinyl glue, bio-based oil finish.
Please note that color shades may vary slightly depending on your screen calibration.
Shipped via Colissimo with insurance and protective packaging.
Care: Straw is easily marked by bumps and scratches. Wipe delicately with a simple soft cloth to remove dust.
