"The Caged Bird" painting, Tangram series, with Green and Yellow Straw Marquetry

The bird, depicted in a Tangram style, is made of green straw marquetry glued onto white paper. The outline of the cage is made of yellow straw marquetry, all set within a light oak-effect frame.
Straw marquetry is a very time-consuming and luxurious technique that involves applying dyed rye straw to various surfaces. I carefully select each strand, open them, flatten them, and apply them one by one onto various supports (furniture, decorative objects, wall art...).
Total dimensions: width 17cm / height 22cm / depth: 3cm
The straw is grown, harvested, and dyed in France, in the Burgundy-Franche-Comté region. A small-batch piece handmade in my small workshop in the Hauts-de-France region.
Materials: MDF, rye straw, white vinyl glue, metal hardware, glass, paper, oak veneer, eco-friendly oil.
Please note that color shades may vary slightly depending on your screen calibration.
Shipped via La Poste Colissimo with insurance and interior protective packaging.
Care instructions: Straw is easily marked by bumps and scratches. Gently wipe with a simple soft cloth to remove dust.
