The desire to maintain a "raw" wood look, preserving its natural flaws and grain, while enhancing it with the noble and luxurious technique of straw marquetry.
Straw marquetry is a very time-consuming and luxurious technique that involves applying dyed rye straw onto various surfaces. I carefully select each strand, open it, flatten it, and apply them one by one onto various supports (furniture, decorative objects, paintings, etc.).
Silent quartz movement that runs on an AA battery (not included).
Dimensions: length 13.2cm / height 13.3cm / depth 5cm
The wood comes from a local forestry operation in the Hauts-de-France region, and the straw is grown, cut, and dyed in France, in the Bourgogne-Franche-Comté region. A small-batch, handmade piece created in my small workshop in the Hauts-de-France.
Materials: oak wood, rye straw, white vinyl glue, bio-based environmental oil finish, silent plastic quartz clock mechanism, metal hands
Please note: color shades may vary slightly depending on your screen calibration.
Shipped via La Poste Colissimo with insurance and protective packaging.
Maintenance: Straw is easily marked by bumps and scratches. Wipe gently with a simple soft cloth to remove dust.
