The bird, depicted in a Tangram style, is made of brown straw marquetry glued onto white paper. The outline of the cage is made of turquoise straw marquetry, all set within a light oak-effect frame.
Straw marquetry is a lengthy and luxurious technique that involves applying dyed rye straw to various surfaces. I carefully select each straw, open them, flatten them, and apply them one by one to different supports (furniture, decorative objects, wall art...).
Total dimensions: width 17cm / height 22cm / thickness: 3cm
The straw is grown, cut, and dyed in France, in the Bourgogne-Franche-Comté region. A small-batch piece handmade in my small workshop in the Hauts-de-France.
Materials: MDF, rye straw, white vinyl glue, metal hardware, glass, paper, oak veneer, eco-friendly oil.
Please note that color shades may vary slightly depending on your screen settings.
Shipped via Colissimo with insurance and protective interior packaging.
Care: Straw is easily marked by impacts and scratches. Wipe gently with a simple soft cloth to remove dust.
